    Hello,

On the Availability Search – top home page. Is it possible to grey out or not be able to select dates that have already been booked?

By the customer being able to continually search for dates that aren’t available, results in poor UX and frustration for the customer.

    Hi Ashley,

It looks like you have a general search availability form on the Home page. Please, remove it and add the booking form of the needed accommodation type.
It can be done with the shortcode [mphb_availability id=”777″] where 777 is the needed accommodation type id.
Do not forget to “Skip Search Results” in Accommodation > Settings.
In this way, the booking form will display (un)available dates of this certain accommodation type.

    Best Regards,
    M. Evans

    Hello Mary,

As far as I can see I have the correct shortcode, please let me know what is wrong with the setup?

    Property reference:

If I “Skip Search Results” this no longer brings up the property pricing page, only a “Confirm Booking”. The problem with this is a customer isn’t going to click “Confirm Booking” without knowing the pricing or property details.

    Thanks for your help.

    Regards,

    Ashley

    Hello Ashley,

As we can see from a link provided in another topic https://seaviewdevon.co.uk/ you’ve managed to add the booking of the the needed accommodation type to your Home page?
Accordingly the Skip Search Results option, you are correct, when it is enabled, guests get redirected directly to the Checkout page.
You may disable Skip Search Results, in case you need guests to be redirected to the Search Results page with this accommodation type offered to book and there with the rate base price displayed.

    Best Regards,
    M. Evans

    Hello Mary,

Unfortunately, this would be a bad experience for a customer and would really negatively effect converting customers as they would be getting a frictionless experience on other platforms.

I am essentially having to give the customer two options:

    1. They either have to keep searching for available dates as the calendar doesn’t blank out non-available dates; or;

    2. They are being asked to confirm a booking without knowing the price.

    On another note:
I have set up the plugin as you have described on the 14th and ticked the “Skip Search Results”, however, the non-available dates are still being shown in the calendar. Please help.

    Hello Ashley,

    1. Unfortunately, for now, there is no possibility to display the price for the searched dates as soon as a guest checks availability. We have such request and added your upvote to the feature requests list. We will notify you as soon as the feature gets implemented.
For now, you may describe and display prices in the content part of a page.

    2. Could you please submit a ticket here, for us to have a closer look at the issue and assist you personally?

    Best Regards,
    M. Evans

    Hello Ashley,

We are happy to inform you that in the 3.8.3 version of the Hotel Booking plugin https://motopress.com/products/hotel-booking/ there was added the ability to display price, adults and children fields in the search form when the direct booking option from the accommodation page is enabled.

Now, you may configure the needed option under your dashboard > Accommodation > Settings > Direct Booking Form.

If you purchased Hotel Booking separately via motopress.com, please, make sure the plugin license is activated (in Accommodation > Settings > License), in order to get the update. In case you got the plugin with a rental theme only, please, have a look at this article.

Feel free to contact us if you have any questions.

    Best regards,
    M. Evans
