Availability Calendar – Select available dates from the calendar

Hello,

Is it possible for a customer to select an available week through the Availability Calendar? Currently, the calendar is not clickable – does the Availability Calendar offer this function? If so, please forward instruction on how this can be achieved?

Hello Ashley,

The Availability calends only displays (un)available dates.
You can add the booking form of the needed accommodation type with the pop-up calendar that displays (un)available dates of this accommodation type.
It can be done with the shortcode [mphb_availability id=”777″] where 777 is the needed accommodation type id.
Do not forget to “Skip Search Results” in Accommodation > Settings.

Thanks for your reply. Your suggestion is what I currently have. However, there are issues with this from the customer experience.

Although this option now no longer allows unavailable dates to be selected… when they select an available week and search, the result provided is “SeaView is available for selected dates” (https://snipboard.io/FgR5SC.jpg)

This should be a given seeing as you can ONLY SELECT AVAILABLE dates (as all others aren’t selectable). What I would like is the search result to display property pricing for that week and property details.

The problem is a customer isn’t going to CONFIRM BOOKING with the current set up as they don’t know what the price is.

Hi,

The added form displays available and unavailable dates for booking of your accommodation type.
Unfortunately, for now, there is no such possibility to display the price for the searched check-in/out dates within the booking form.
Nevertheless, we’ve added your request to our feature requests list and will notify you as soon as this gets implemented.

For now, as a variant, you can disable Skip Search Results in Accommodation > Settings. However, in this way, a guest will be redirected to the Search Results page with this accommodation type offered to book and there will be displayed the rate base price.

Thanks for your reply 🙂 and for adding the request for development.

The Motopress plugin is the best Booking plugin I have found on WordPress…and will potentially save me a lot of development work.

Unfortunately, this is quite a big UX issue and could potentially really negatively effect booking conversion rates on the website.

Only having the choice between:

1. Not being able to grey out unavailable dates on the Check-in Check-out form calendar. (as this would leave the customer constantly trying to find available dates if the property has a lot of bookings.) but the customer can view the property info and pricing before booking.

or

2. Having the unavailable dates greyed out on the Check-in Check-out form calendar but not showing the info and pricing before the customer books.

Out of interest do Motopress share via GitHub or other means what features, bug fixes etc they are currently working on for future version releases?

Hello Ashley,

As a variant to block the booked dates for search in the booking form calendar, you can block the booked dates manually under your dashboard > Bookings > Booking Rules > Block Accommodation.
You may also specify prices in the content part, for gusts to see them before making a search.

The request to display an approximate price after making search within the accommodation type booking form does have high demand, but our developers make a decision on what features to add after each plugin update based on the number of requests for different features.

Hello!

We are happy to inform you that in the 3.8.3 version of the Hotel Booking plugin https://motopress.com/products/hotel-booking/ there was added the ability to display price, adults and children fields in the search form when the direct booking option from the accommodation page is enabled.

Now, you may configure the needed option under your dashboard > Accommodation > Settings > Direct Booking Form.

If you purchased Hotel Booking separately via motopress.com, please, make sure the plugin license is activated (in Accommodation > Settings > License), in order to get the update.In case you got the plugin with a rental theme only, please, have a look at this article.
