ParticipantHello,
I am using the hotel booking plugin to manage 3 rental units.
We do not allow online booking by guests. Which means all bookings are completed through the WordPress Dashboard by an admin.
We tell our guests that if they would like to pay by Credit Card, we can accept them but it will have an additional fee of 3%.
How do I add this fee onto the booking so that the guest will receive an invoice showing the total amount including the Credit Card Fee?Has anyone figured out a workaround for this?
Would it make sense to use a coupon code? (Possibly a cash discount?)
I am already using a coupon code for a discount when someone books over 4 weeks. I apply this manually.
I would prefer to keep my daily rate lower vs. displaying it higher. For example if my rate is $100/night. I would prefer not to show $103/night and then give a cash discount as a lower listed rate is better for visibility.
Thank you in advance.February 20, 2025 at 12:40 pm #1731259J. Davis
KeymasterHi Steven,
As a workaround, you can duplicate the rate and name it ‘Pay By Credit Card +3% fee’. You can change the price of the rate and select a proper rate while adding a reservation. The name of the rate is displayed in the pricebreakdown.February 21, 2025 at 10:32 am #1731712Steven Alig
ParticipantThanks for the response.
This is exactly what we figured out last week.
I thought I would have to activate and deactivate the rates everytime but when I left them both on, I realized that during the booking process I now have a choice to choose the rate I want applied.
This works.I hope you will consider adding the ability to apply a fee percentage to a payment type in the future. Like is discussed on this thread: https://motopress.com/forums/topic/fees-by-payment-gateway/
