    Hello,

I would the blog page to show excerpts rather than full articles, but maintain the list style. I know there are the different layout options, but I prefer to keep the list. Is this possible? I have “Summary” selected in WordPress settings.

    Thanks!

    Hi Adam,

You can try to add excerpt or more tag to define the content to show at the blog layout.

    Best regards,
    John

    Hi John,

The excerpts don’t show, just the whole article when the list style is selected.

My customer is asking for something more like this: http://www.lee-valuation.com/news/

Am I going to have to alter the code that determines what displays?

    Thanks,
    Adam

    Hello Adam,

Unfortunately I can not see Emmet theme installed by link you provided. We’d like to know what Blog type you used? You can submit request providing admin login data and we’ll check theme settings for you.

    Best regards,
    John

    Hi,

This is the site I am working on with Emmet: http://www.cwsdn.com/newsletter/

I need the blog layout to look like this blog: http://inlandempirebiz.com/blog/

The Emmet theme option of “With Sidebar” is not displaying the excerpts, but the whole post. I need it to show the excerpt. I have display summaries selected in WordPress settings.

    Thanks,
    Adam

    Hi Adam

You can try to use More tag in this case http://prntscr.com/dm4hgw to define the length of content in the blog http://prntscr.com/dm4hv7
Or you can switch to Two Columns Blog layout within Appearance>Customize>Posts Settings.

    Best regards,
    John

Thank you for the response. The more tag would work on the main blog page, but would be an annoyance on the single post page.

I’ll have to look for another option, or figure out how to tweak the Blog layout code to achieve what I want.

    Hi Adam,

You can also try to use Posts Grid element in Page Builder by MotoPress. It allows to control the length of description easily. Also it is flexible in post type filtering.

    Best regards,
    John
