Amend a live Booking to remove specific dates.

Hi guys,

We have had a couple of Guests requesting us to remove either Day 1 or the Last Day of their fully paid for Booking, for reasons such as they can’t arrive on their first day now, or someone in their party has cancelled or they have to leave early and before their last day.

Appreciating that the Theme itself can not re-calulate part refunds, however that is easy to acheive manually, is there a way to release individual specific dates from a live Booking? ie: removing the first or last date or dates, thus allowing the system to make those dates available in the calendar to other site visitors.

As you’ll know, when one goes to Edit Booking > Booking Information … One can not ammend Check In Or Check Out dates they are marked with an *asterix and have 4 dots …. next to them … Obviously for system macro/referencing/tagging or similar.

Our current work around is to advise our Guests to either Cancel the Booking using the Cancel Link in their original email, or we will Manually Cancel their whole Booking in our office, freeing up ALL the dates allowing them to choose and re-book the new one’s they require.

The Challenge with this is, when going through our Booking System again to choose their new dates they have to Pay Again, then when we see the new Booking and payment made, and there can be delays their end, we immediately make the refund for the original booking through the relevant payment platform. It’s just a tad laborious and long-winded.

Be so much easier to just be able to ammend the Dates inside the Edit Booking function and then Log In to the payment processor and make a part payment refund.

Please note that editing booking feature allows to change check-in/check-out days, you should simply click “Edit Dates” button below Check-in/Check-out dates in order to change them: https://prnt.sc/tcjgut. Once again thank you for your speedy reply and solution.

Unfortunately 😉 we don’t have an ‘Edit Bookings’ button showing, please see my screenshot… I’d have probably spotted that if it were on the page 🙂 lol

Have I missed an ‘enable’ button somewhere or is there some code I can add in?

Hello, Mark!

Please note that “Edit booking” feature is available in Hotel Booking plugin starting from version 3.8.0. Since the plugin is built in the Campterra theme, it can be updated to the latest version only along with the theme update. It usually takes some time for our developers to update the theme, since they have to make sure everything works in tact. However, if you do not want to wait for a theme update, you may get the plugin license separately in order to receive automatic updates regardless of the theme version.

Unfortunately, there is no exact time frame for the theme update, it depends on the development tasks load. So far, there is no information on when the Campterra theme will be updated.
